Peru, port of Callao. Tintin and Captain Haddock are on the hunt for their friend Professor Calculus, who has been kidnapped by authentic descendants of the Inca people.
The heroes are convinced: the scientist is being held prisoner on the cargo ship Pachacamac.
But the ship is flying the yellow flag and the yellow and blue triangle: contagious disease on board! Tintin, convinced of a ruse, decides to search the boat as soon as night falls.
Taken from page 6 of the album Le Temple du soleil (1949), this silent panel has everything to seduce us. This dynamic new visual replaces another strong image, also inspired by the maritime world. What could be more natural, after all, for a building that resembles an imposing ocean liner moored on the shores of welcoming Brabant.
This is pure action, and Tintin embodies it to perfection. Its youth, vitality and audacity are all signs that make sense in Louvain-la-Neuve, the university town that saw the birth of the Musée Hergé 12 years ago.
More than ever, the Musée Hergé invites you to discover its graphic treasures, imagined and designed by a multi-talented author.
All aboard!
